About Us
Savannah Health Alliance is a community project to improve the health of our community.
Savannah Health Alliance was organized in response to a program announcement from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF); Aligning Forces for Quality. The premise of Aligning Forces for Quality is that no single person, group or profession can improve the quality of care without the support of others. Aligning Forces for Quality seeks to drive quality improvement by aligning key forces, including health care providers (physicians/physician groups, nurses, and clinics), health care purchasers (employers and insurers) and health care consumers (patients). The three areas of concentration are:
- Help providers improve their own ability to deliver quality care.
- Help providers measure and publicly report their performance.
- Help patients and consumers understand their vital role in recognizing and demanding high-quality care.
Not many months latter the President released an Executive Order that health care programs administered or sponsored by the federal government be built on collaborative efforts and on four cornerstones for health care improvement.
- Interoperable Health Information Technology (Health IT Standards)
- Measure and Publish Quality Information (Quality Standards)
- Measure and Publish Price Information (Price Standards)
- Promote Quality and Efficiency of Care (Incentives)
Health and Human Services announced the creation of the Community Value Exchange program to support the ‘Four Cornerstone’ project.
